Hello guys! just bought my new set mobo and proc and I'm just curious to find out if the auto overclocking is dangerous to the CPU? I haven't touched anything and it's set to default but I checked the AI tweaker out and said that the CPU frequency was set to auto is that dangerous to the CPU? since the voltage would also adjust to the frequency needed?

Thaaaaanks!

So long as you have a cooler that can handle the overclocked TDP of your processor, you will have no issue with overclocks. Also, not to mention that all the other components aren't lackluster(i.e, the PSU and the case). Auto means that the voltages will be usually set to the highest possible value to ensure stability.

You can go into BIOS and tweak the voltage for your processor however, I'd highly suggest you first look into the matter prior to performing it on your platform. I would also ask you to avoid software based overclocking. If anything, do anything and everything within the BIOS.

that is true but since it's set to auto it can also increase the cpu freq as much as needed when performing, same will happen if the voltage is in auto, however that's what I understood in the AMD overclocking not sure if it's the same here.
from what i understand going auto on voltage could hurt the system because of power surge
