So guys i have an old rig Wich im gonna explain all the story in here , i had a mother board some gigabyte Ga and i dont know the exact model cuz it fried , i played about half of year on that mobo , and i had some heat issues , okay so lets get to the part , when it was winter i was doing the fire in the pit in my room to warm up , so the secondary parts are:
Amd Athlon x2 64 5600+ 2.9 frequency , 4 gb Ram ddr2 800 mhz , a Nvidia Gt 9500 1 gb ddr2 , and a hdd with about 160 gb full of memory , okay so when i was doing gaming and stuff my pc was shuting down for some reasons , first times i was suspecting the Psu getting to hot cuz when the shutdown prevented i was placing my hand behind my psu and the air was to hot , and 'bout the psu its an spire Atx 420W , so i still played through the issue and i didn't even cared about that my pc was shuting down on that motherboard even in the summer when was hot in the room either , the Gigabyte Ga Fried cuz im suspected from the shutdowns there was a lots of shutdowns just imagine from past winter december to June/July , so i bought a Pegatron Mini-itx Apx85-gs Motherboard , in Octomber 2016 i didn't had a single problem till now , my Cpu Reaches About hang tight 120 Degrees Celsius !! i dont know why is this happening even when im in the google chrome browser reaches 60 to 70 , im worried for this mobo to not end up like the other one , so i wonder what do you guys sugest , i mean for about 1 month and so i didn't had this heat problem , all i know like i had some thermal paste on my pcu , and i wiped that from the bottom of my heatsink with a piece of wet cloth i let that dry so from there i had this issue , i want to mention theres a li'll bit of thermal compoud left on the head of the cpu , and i was decided to go buy some new , wipe that old and place that again , i know its an old rig but its like a Holy Grall to me and i want to play games on it , like i play League of legends , and even when i wait for the client to patch up its even shuting down on the patch process cuz my cpu reaches over 80 to 90 degrees and 100% usage , and for that 122 degrees (Celsius!) i was playing Splinter cell Conviction so i closed the game to not prevent any damage , Sorry for the big novel guys , but if you have any answers please help my some way , Sorry for the bad english btw!

Solution
First of all, you need to get some new thermal paste and reapply it on the chip. The reason why your chip is heating up so badly is because your chip does not have direct contact with the cooler, and will heat up your chip quite a fair bit.

Also I recommend getting a new cooler that supports your chip, this will cool down your cpu a lot.
