[SOLVED] CPU getting too hot with cryorig H7

Hello,

My pc freezes etc and it seemed my fx 8320 gets way too hot while gaming (between 60-80) after i installed my cryorig H7.
So my question is how do i fix this since the cryorig H7 is a good cooler did i apply too much/not enough thermal paste or do i need to tighten screws or anything?
im not sure i hope someone can help.

cpu: FX 8320
Cpu cooler: Cryorig H7
GPU: msi gtx 960 4gb
MB: msi 970
RAM memory: kingston hyperX savage 16gb 2400 mhz DDR3
PSU: cooler master g750m 750 watt
Case: aerocool PSG mechatron
SSD 1: Crucial mx500 256 gb
SSD 2: samsung evo 750 500gb


and this started when i upgraded it to cryorig H7 with my stock cooler i had 0 problems but i upgraded because it was too loud but now i have this :/
(so even with stock cooler temps were good)

this is a little of a rough question but i think a little bigger than a pea and then i spread it with a card

3 but before with my stockcooler i didnt have any heat problems only reason i replaced was because of the noise.

A pea sized amount is perfect , I never spread it though. I let the cooler and heat do it after it's up and running. I own the Cryorig H7 it should be doing a better job if everything is correct.

hmm what do u think would be the problem? and in weight i put i think 2g on it because i had a tube of 4g and its half empty

i dont think i did anything differently except for that i spread the thermal compound and the fan is towards my ram and i tightened it a lil more than him ( i think)
but i think ill used a little more thermal compound than him slightly

Having a little to much can cause higher thermals. Not saying you did , but something to consider.

should i clean my cpu and apply new thermal paste or anything just to be sure? and with my cryorig H7 they didnt deliver thermal paste with it i used arctic mx-2 is this bad quality or doesnt it matter?

H7 should have come with paste and it's very good. I use MX4 myself.

for me it didnt come with paste for some reason guess they dont do that in netherlands but i dont really know what ot do anymore but the air doesnt feel heat or anything and this is what my temp monitor says: http://prntscr.com/mqj1xr

I think 2g is too much thermal paste. The idea of themal paste is to conduct heat to the cooling plate. So thinner is better than thicker. I WOULD CLEAN OFF THE PASTE AND REAPPLY JUST A PEA SIZE AMOUNT OF PASTE IN THE MIDDLE OF CPU AND apply your cooler. You will probably see better cooling.

Did you remove plastic protective film from cpu cooler before installing it?

Get some of the Arctic clean thermal paste remover. Take off the heatsink and clean up the CPU/heatsink and retry and test your results.
