CPU getting too hot?

I just put in my new i7 4790k (4ghz), Which is being cooled buy a cooler master seidon 120.

It says my temperatures are around 45 degrees, but when I put my hand on the pc it feels very hot.

This normal?

To help you send us this:

idle temps
load temps

you can see the temps with realtemp and run a program like cinebench2015 or intel extreme tuning stress test...

We need to know the idle and load temps.

However, 45C is about 113F, so yes it should feel rather warm at that temp. Also, the Seidon 120 is not the best cooler, you may notice that the tubing to the radiator gets rather warm.

I disagree with the above in the programs that were suggested. I recommend AIDA64 Extreme to stress the CPU as well as monitor the temperature. Once installed, drop down the Tools menu across the top, select System Stability Test, select CPU FPU Cache and System Memory, run the test for ten minutes, take a screenshot of the Statistics tab and post it here on Tom's.

In order to fit all the stats on screen at once, you may have to make the window taller.

both programs are fine dude, but yes, aida64 is most trusted test software...

I wasn't trying to say that you suggested bad programs, but rather that I simply don't trust two separate programs to do as good of a job as one program with both functions.

The CPU cooler only cools the CPU itself - if the case panels feel warm, that means that your case cooling in probably marginal or insufficient.
