Hey, i have a problem.

When i was removing the dust from my cpu heatsink i accidentally pulled them both out. And now i need to remove the cpu from the heatsink before i can install them again. Problem is, they are stuck. Really bad. I tried soaking it in 96% alcohol. And heating it up with a hair drier. And using dental floss soaked in alcohol. But i cant get anything in between. They are pressed together very tight.
See pictures.

The second one is it soaking in alcohol.

I sincerely hope anyone can help me.

Thanks.

It looks like an amd cpu (from the pins on the cpu). Seems this happens quite a bit. One suggestion that tends to help others is to reinstall the cpu if possible and getting all the pins back into the proper holes of the socket. Turn the pc on for a little bit and let the cpu warm up. Once the cpu's warm and has warmed the thermal paste power it down and gently rotate the cooler clockwise and counter-clockwise with the cpu still in the socket.

The idea is for the heat to help loosen the thermal paste and to use the socket to help hold the cpu steady while using a bit of a twisting motion to break the bond between the cooler and cpu. Simply pulling on the cooler straight away from the motherboard, the zif socket doesn't have enough...

Simply pulling on the cooler straight away from the motherboard, the zif socket doesn't have enough clamping force on the cpu pins so they pull right out of the socket with everything stuck together.
