CPU goes from 3200Mhz to 1299Mhz after while in game(Please help!)

Hello, i have some issues with my AMD FX 8300. For some reason from time to time while im playing CPU Clock goes from 3,200 to 1299 and stays until i restart my pc. Since im not new to CPU i already monitored temperatures and clock during gaming. Temperature is between 30-35 C on Battlefield 1 (Where it happens most and in r6 Siege) and GPU temp is around 50-55. No spikes there then it just randomly goes to 1299 Mhz . It doesnt happen everytime. Sometimes im playing for 10 min and its on 1299 asap sometimes i play 3 hours and nothing happens. Can someone help me ? Im desperate i have no idea what should i change or whats wrong. Thanks !

Most likely the fx8300 was throttled by your MB. So what is your MB?
Or you may try disable two or more cores in the BIOS, then try run the game again, because most of games don't need more than 4 cores.

Sounds like the motherboard alright, im betting the VRM's are probably slowly getting overheated so it has to reduce CPU voltage to keep VRM's in check so the CPU gets dramatically throttled. But what motherboard do you have? is it s 970FX or 990FX chipset?

My motherboard is MSI 760GM-P23(FX) in CPUID on chipset colon it says "AMD 780G" , so you guys think that motherboard is pretty safe bet ? Should i buy new one ? Im ready to buy anything thats needed.

Even your cpu has the 95W TDP, and the MB had problem to keep up the CPU overtime , because it has the lower VRMs ( 3+1). You can try disable two cores in the BIOS, check the manual to see how. If the PC will run fine after you disable the cores, you know the MB has problem to power the fx8300. And don't recommend to buy other AM3+ MB, you just wasted the money, you can buy the small fan, and install it on the top of the VRMs section, it will help. Then save more money to upgrade the whole PC.
