CPU & GPU upgrades?

Hi, I currently have a pre-built gaming system from Best-Buy. It has an MSI GTX 750ti GPU, an unknown motherboard, and an AMD FX-63?? (which runs at 3.5GHz, and clocks at 3.75GHz). It runs decently with games like CSGO and Fallout 4 (F4 in extremely low settings). I am planning on saving up at least $1500 for upgrades, and I was wondering if it would be worth it to save up for one of the new Pascal GPUs, buy a 970, or save for a 980ti. Also, what motherboard and processor I should save for. Keep in mind, it takes forever for me to make money because my parents probably won't let me get a job.

Solution
Since you have to save for a long period of time. I would go with the GPU last, and go with Pascal. You can use the 750ti, from your current system for a while, to get you by. For CPU, it depends on how long this has to last, what else you want to do, other than gaming. Probably would consider a non k series i7, or a Xeon 1230v5, for longevity's sake. Going the non overclock route will allow for more money for the GPU as well. Stick to tier 1 and tier 2 units, for power supply. http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/id-2547993/psu-tier-list.html

With $1500 I would recommend that you build a new computer. A prebuilt computer would have a power supply sized for the config, that would most likely need to change, When you upgrade the mobo you may need a new OS. you will also need to make sure that the CPU cooler would fit.

Also if you are having trouble saving due to your parents not letting you find a job this may mean that by the time you have saved the money that no upgrades we recommend are still relevant. If you plan on doing this piece by piece how much do you have now to start?
