Question CPU heat problems on Asus laptop ?

Hello, everyone! This is my first time using this platform, so forgive me if there are any mistakes with the posting format here!

Laptop model: Asus ROG Strix Scar 15 G533QS
Ryzen 9 5900 HX

RTX 3080 16gb
32 GB RAM

I've been using the laptop for a while, and there has been something bugging me.
I've been experiencing some heat problems with the CPU.

It comes with factory overclocking up to 4.6ghz and when I'm using the manual settings at Armoury Crate, the CPU goes to 96 degrees almost without exception during heavier games and depending on the game it doesn't reach it's full power( for example when I'm playing Cyberpunk 2077 it stays at 3.6-4 GHz at most) and I'm experiencing heavier FPS drops.

Are there any solutions you could recommend to me aside from having it checked at a service centre? There is probably some throttling messing with my performance, but undervolting might overlap with the Armoury crate settings which I need for my fan cooling.

Welcome to the forums, newcomer!

Just to bring something to light, those kind of temps are normal for the Ryzen mobile platform. You could try and use some higher quality thermal paste and thermal pads to offset the one that's bundled from the factory(which tend to be lower in quality).

Thank you for the quick answer, Luftij!

I have read that these temperatures are fairly common for this model, but I was wondering if there is some way to elevate some pressure off the CPU by regulating its power settings. I will definitely look into changing the thermals whenever I have the chance! I was also curious whether I could regulate the frequency in some way that doesn't overlap with Armoury Crate's settings so that I can get the most out of the processor's performance in some heavier games (for example, Cyberpunk 207 or CPU intensive games in general so that I can keep more stable performance).
