I built a new PC 2 months ago, look in my sig for specs. The CPU when it's loaded and heating it has this smell. It's directly linked to when it's getting hot. It hasn't gone away but I would think it's the paste (stock cooling).

All fans are working, PSU is fine, no performance issues, and all temps are perfectly in range (CPU: 36-40c idle, 55-70 when gaming; GPU 40-60c)

That wouldn't make sense, after two months and lots of gaming I would notice temps going up. They have gone down, rather, as we enter September. Literally everything is within range of normal: Performance, Temps, etc.

It's a very mellow smell, it's nothing bad. I just read something on another topic that could be the answer to it.

"PCB's are sprayed with a chemical to prevent ESD from damaging hardware. When the PCB gets hot it gives off a smell. Thats probably what your smelling. Unless it smells like something burning I wouldn't worry about. I built my computer in September and three and a half months later it still smells. Again if that is what it is it will probably last a while."
