I am planning on buy the A10-6800k processor and would like to get a fan that is better than the stock OEM fan. My case is just a stock HP Case for the P7-1414 desktop PC. I have a 500 Watt power supply and a GTX 760 graphics card. I am looking for a fan/heatsink with easy install, decent cooling capability, and at least fairly quiet. Thanks for the help. Also if you guys could recommend a good thermal grease to use for this that would be great as well.

Get an Athlon X4 760K then. It costs just about $85, and is the same as the A10-6800K, just without the graphics, which you won't use anyway.

Do you still have the A8-5500? Forget buying the A10-6800K, that is a waste of money that will give you 10% better performance. Instead, i'd save your money for an Intel motherboard and i3, which for $160 would get you a huge performance jump.

Scout, Ok thank you, I will likely use those if/when I buy this CPU.

Zirco, I would do that except that it is a lot more work (did that recently on another build) and just dont have time for it right now. I am looking for the most performance I can get out of the FM2 socket that I currently have access to.

Yup! I'd measure the vertical space between the motherboard and the side of the case on the inside to see if the 212 EVO will fit. The EVO is 159mm tall, so you will need AT LEAST 16 cm.

With a 212 EVO, you will be able to get a good overclock, and it will give you a sizable performance jump over the A8-5500.

Yeah, ONLY with a good overclock will you see any improvements. Again, don't expect any huge jumps, but it will help.

I'd appreciate it if you clicked "Pick as the solution" on the best answer. Thanks!

Yeah my bad on that, been awhile since I have been on the forums, And really im only looking for a small improvement before the overclock. Problem is the 5500 cant be overclocked (at least not without a pain in the ass) and anything is better than -20 fps when in cities/large battles.

I found the stock heatsink come with AMD A10-6800k does not cover the area of CPU after bought from store. The hearsink is all alumium with 1.3" sq core. (the contact area) The cpu has an area of 1.57" sq. The temperature goes c57+ when it was loaded. The cpu fan goes up the 5700rpm (6000rpm is max). I took off the stock heatsink and replaced it with AMD MF091-096 (Phenom X4 heatsink with full copper base).
The problem is resolved very nicely. The CPU temperature is C46 when it is fully loaded. The CPU fan has a speed of 3400rpm.
