CPU Heatsink Fan not spinning - PC still boots

Hey there, I've checked around a couple of similar threads to this and haven't really found anything that works for me yet.

The issue is that my CPU heatsink fan isn't spinning at all, not even briefly when booting my PC. It also doesn't spin even after reaching high temperatures, I've gone up to 91 C under stress. My PC still boots just fine, and MSI control center + various other software like CPUID HWmonitor show the fan being powered to 100 % - but with 0 RPM.

What I've tried to do to fix it so far:

* Checked if the CPU fan is connected to the CPU fan slot on mobo.
* Dusted my case and its components throughoutly.
* Checked if there's anything blocking the fan. (Fan runs flawlessly when pushing with finger.)

The model of my heat sink is: arctic freezer 7 pro rev 2.

I also made a short video/gif: https://gyazo.com/2a00ca3a0797f314aceef3fe9ca4f57e

Other things to add is that I've had the PC for about 6 years now, and I don't think I've had a blue screen or crash yet. So I doubt the heatsink was not functioning properly from the start.

I also had around 35-40 C idle temps on my PC and playing a game like league of legends put it to 90 C until I dusted my case. After cleaning the case of dust I tested league with 60-70 temperatures. So I guess the PC is able to handle itself without the heatsink fan functioning, but I'd still prefer having it working.

Hopefully there's a way to fix this, thanks.

I agree that the fan probably failed, but you might also first check that something like the fan's cord didn't get stuck in the fins, which might be blocking it from turning. You might want to give the fan a spin with your finger and check that it can turn freely.

Sounds like the fan failed. It's not surprising considering it has been in use for 6 years. I would suggest simply using the stock cooler (if you still have it) until you are able to get a new cooler. If you have any more questions I would be glad to help.
