cpu help please!

I have:
Nvidia gtx 770
amd Fx 8350
8 gigs of ram
windows 7 64 sp1
Drivers are up to date.

I upgraded my cpu from an AMD phenom 2 x6 t1100 to an amd fx 8350 and have not noticed any increase in performance, even though i feel i should, a friend of mine has a similar build and gets ~300 fps in counterstrike go, but i am only getting between 100-200. Is there something wrong, or should i do as suggested and reformat?

GPU is the main thing that counts towards FPS. Does your friend have a better GPU? You could lower the screen resolution as that may make your FPS go higher.

He has a 7870 i believe. But in most circumstances yes, the gpu is the main thing, but not in counterstrike, it is heavily cpu dependent, which is why this is concerning me.-

Honestly, the FX has almost zero advantage over the Phenom. You can try overclocking it.

Bear in mind a 60Hz monitor can only display 60 frames per second. Have you got a gaming monitor?
