In TH CPU Hierarchy 2020, why would an Intel Core i9-9900KS , an 8 core with 16 threads @ 4.0 GHz, be ranked higher than an AMD Threadripper 3970X, a 32 core with 64 threads @ 3.7 GHz?
it's ranked higher only on the gaming chart?
mostly because I don't know a single game that can make use of a 32core CPU
and while the 3970X is a special beast for many tasks, it's not targetted at gaming, as you can see in the single core performance chart. you simply get higher fps on a 9900KS in a test environment than on a 3970X
