Hello all
I have an athlon 64 x2 5200+ (2.70ghz) 65w
ram 3gb ddr2 800mhz
nvidia gt 610 1gb
Asus asrock N61p-s(the mobo have features for oc )
and other
But on my case i have a screen for temps and is showing 44.5c for my cpu,i downloaded speedfan and there CPU is about 7-10 more,is it a normal temp or its a little high, and i change my cpu cooler the stock replaced with Deepcool Gammaxx 200 also i have a deepcool case fan wind blade 80mm led blue who is sucking air,the cpu is cleaned and new thermal everything is ok,I want to overclocked it and i dont know to do it or not because of the temps!! Can someone help me ? And who is correct the speedfan or the other screen on my case in front? Thank you :))

Solution
those temps are while playing a game? that is pretty safe. not sure how much of an overclock you can get, the amd website lists 55-68'C as max temps. for the monitoring, i wouldn't really trust either: the only real way to know the temp for sure is to actually have a thermocouple directly on the cpu itself. the case is probably measuring the temp around the cpu, and the software is probably using the cpu or motherboards sensors, both of which will not be 100% accurate.

if the game runs smoothly, why do you wish to overclock?

well the best way to tell is to actually start overclocking. no offense, but the equipment you are working with isn't exactly expensive, or high performance. so just push it til you reach your limit. most overclockers like to stay under 70 C, some are happy with under 80 C. of course, your cpu will probably throttle itself before reaching a damaging temperature, but in any case take baby steps increasing your voltage in very small increments. usually, the voltage (vcore) determines how much heat your cpu will produce, and not the clock multiplier
