CPU High temperatures?

Hi all,

In the past 2 days, my cpu has been hitting some questionable temperatures. Today for example, it is hitting 60 celcius at idle and with chrome open, it was hitting 70 celcius. Last night as well, my cpu was hitting 100 celcius whilst playing CS:GO. I have an Intel i5-6600 with the stock cooler (which I cannot replace at the moment) and 2 case fans. All the fans are running at maximum RPM. I also have a Nvidia GTX 960 which in theory should do most of the work when gaming??? I would like to mention also that I live in Sydney, Australia and that recently temperatures have been around 25-28 celcius outside and around 20-21 roughly inside my room.

Help would be appreciated.

EDIT: I might also like to add that when I'm playing CS:GO, my CPU utilization is at about 56% or so and I get close to 60% choke in game (net_graph 1).

If your 960 is an EVGA ACX card, all the hot air from the card could be creating a hotter environment for the CPU. i.e exhausting into the case instead of out. Can you add more fans inside the case?

Mine is a Gigabyte GTX960. Can't remember the exact model but it has a Windforce logo on the side. Also, I cannot add more fans to the case (don't have cash). I also have my case open. My GPU fans are facing down as well. My processor is at stock clocks so I don't think it's that.

make sure your CPU cooler is functioning and installed properly. sometimes can be a pain to get them to 'click' into place, and you may not notice it isn't installed correctly. also, make sure the fan is actually spinning.

I checked this last night. The fans are spinning at max. I even put my finger in it to test. My PC has only been built for 8-9 months.
