CPU hitting 80c while gaming

I built my first PC and i had used the stock cooler for my ryzen 2600x and it was sitting at 60c to 70c while gaming but now i upgraded the fan to a cryorig c7 and now temps are hitting 70c to 85c. I don't have any case fans because its a mini itx case so i cant really fit anything. My pc keeps telling me when my CPU is hitting 80 and it worries me since i don't know much about PCs. I don't know if the fan installation was bad or what i have no idea what to do.

A few of the X-series of CPUs inflate CPU temps by up to 15-25C to keep the fan speed curve ahead of the heat buildup...

Quite possibly, your actual true temp may be a mild 58-60C instead.....

Ryzen 2 series have 10c temperature offset, first series 20c Offset. https://www.hwinfo.com/download.php and latest Ryzen Master would give you most accurate reading. HW Info shows both.

Did you remove the thermal residue and clean the top of the cpu thoroughly??

i was using HW to monitor my temps and its still 70c - 80c while gaming

Yep i cleaned it off with isopropyl alcohol before i put the new cooler on, but i did find a super small hard spec that wouldn't come off no matter what i did

It's not way too high but should be better with that cooler if it's properly mounted and fans running top speed (above 70c). AMD recommends 75c tops so even 80c for short times shouldn't have much effect.

You could use a razer blade to carefully scrape them off. Scratches are not a problem but any bumps are.

No case fans its a silverstone rvz02 too small to fit any fans

Than you don't have much choice. If that's hottest it ever gets you should be able to live with it, just abjust fan to fastest when needed.
