Question CPU hotter with new thermal paste

Insane. Frustrated.
Old thermal - 55c
New thermal - 89c
What the hell???
Heatsink is installed correctly, so is the CPU.
Old, used thermal paste that came preapplied on the heatsink, when i cleaned the dust off the pc, max it hit was 57c, neee urgent help

Thermal compound is Arctic MX-2

Ryzen 1700 stock amd cooler

Everything is much better now, accidentally forgot to plug the fan cable, OOPS. Now it's 42°C MAX.
