Hey,

I am thinking about getting an AKASA AK-824cu-BL Socket A Cooler for my Athlon XP2000 (Not overclocking) and just wanted to know if anyone has had any experience with them?

Thanks.

If not Oc'ing, why not just go stock?

<font color=green>::: Sir, I'd like to return this cpu, it is dead.</font color=green> <font color=blue>::: Its not dead, its resting...</font color=blue>

I will OC in the future but as for now my system is running a little hot with the Stock HTS & Fan.

Is it really? Can you believe the numbers it tells you?
My cpu tells me it gets up to 86C, but i know that cannot be true as it would lockup within seconds.

If its not locking up when you run full load on warm days then its fine!

Well i have a crap case with no fans etc. The main reason for changing was NOISE :) The stock fan was like a plane taking off...the temp was up a little as well.

Well you know that the high temps are probably at least partially due to the crap case.

no fans, low airflow, lots of restriction, thus you get heat buildup.
In modern systems you shouldnt really rely on the PSU fan to cool the case... its mostly just cooling the psu.

just one slow speed rearcasefan can make a significant difference, provided its not too hindered by poor case design.
