CPU i5-4690k heating 88ºC

So, i am building my pc right now and i turned it on 1st time and i went to the bios to check if everything was ok, everything good till i saw cpu temp, it reached 88ºC and the pc was on like 3 or 4 minutes, i didn't install the stock cooler yet, is this normal? Have i done something wrong with psu or so???

I read that you switched it on with no CPU cooler? If I am right that's your problem, never do this, you must use a cooler.

you have to have a cooler man, dont turn it on again without it on or you will do some serious damage to that cpu.

The cooler is really important for cpu. if u r not overclocking the cpu the stock cooler is enough but if u r planning to overclock u need a better cooler from antec, cooler master, deepcool etc...
The good temps in 100% load should be around 65 C to 75 C max and idle around 35 C to 45 C

dont get a corsair h55 though, i have one and after only 3 weeks of use, the temps are starting to spike, i was away for a week and it wasnt touched and all of a sudden spikes, so yeah, this is one i dont recommend.
