better to leave it on and have power saving on and never having to turn it off or everytime i go out to work should i turn off the power??

and how long will i be able to use this computer before having to upgrade or buy new computer??

Both. Only leave the PC always on if it is running at full load all the time.

It depends on what you do.

It would last extremely long if it is an office PC. BTW, even a P4 is still more than sufficient for an office PC.

However, it won't last as long if it is built for high end gaming and CAD purpose. Nevertheless, it should last for at least 3 years for these kinds of purpose.
