CPU Installation: Supposed to be super tight?

Hello everyone, quick question.

I got my cpu and its matching motherboard (in terms of sockets) and I opened and closed the cpu cover fine, but with the cpu, closing it seems a bit tighter than expected, maybe a lot tighter. Is that normal?

As the latch closes (assuming Intel), it does feel a bit tighter and more pressure than one would expect.

Provided you installed correctly, lowered in flag, didn't force anything etc, it's fine.

There is some decent tension when closing.

Sounds normal.
