Hey,
Lately my laptop started acting a little bit crazy so I tried one of those software to see the problem but instead it started lagging way too much and so I disinstalled it and my laptop was fine again but today when I was checking CPU performance I saw that his speed is 2.4GHz (see the image down below) and the max speed is 1.80GHz and the temperature is high (51° C)
I just to know how and why it's working at that speed!
PS : only opera is working in foreground.
Thanks

Solution
The base frequency of the i5-3337U is 1.8 GHz, but it can turbo up all the way to 2.7 GHz when the cooling is sufficient. In addition, 51 C is not an abnormally high temperature for a CPU under load. You may have other issues, but your CPU appears to be behaving normally. There isn't anything in the image from your task manager that looks like it would cause a huge amount of lag, so your issue may be software. Or it's possible that whatever is causing the lag was finished by the time you were able to take a screenshot. That happens sometimes when it's an update that is slowing your computer down.

No. The more complete way of describing it is that the CPU will turbo whenever (1) the software can use the extra speed, (2) the cooling is sufficient to allow for the higher frequency, and (3) the CPU does not run into a TDP limit (a maximal power draw). There are some other limitations as well, but it is completely normal for the CPU to go up to its maximum turbo frequency.
