CPU is 95C at boot (even in bios)

Hi, so my system is booting and sometimes will instantly hit a blue screen. When this happens and i go into the bios i can see that the temps are mid to high 90's C. The odd thing is this only happens occasionally. Sometimes i will boot just fine and have normal Temps (27C idle and 55C max load AIDA64). Other times if i do get past the login my computer will be incredibly slow to the point that i need to shut down. I have overclocked in this past so i'm wondering is these random temp spikes could be caused by CPU damage. My system specs are:

I7-6700k
Gigabyte GA-Z170X-Ultra Gaming Motherboard
Team Dark 16GB DDR4 3000 RAM
EVGA gtx 980ti SC
NZXT Kraken x62 cooler

Any help would be much appreciated!

It could be the cooler failing intermittently.

Possibly there is some debris in the liquid circuit.
If the unit is under warranty, I would replace it.

If not, buy a scythe kotetsu for about $35 which will actually be more effective with your parts.
