Cpu is overheating when gaming and idle

Hi Guys,
I a having a problem from wednesday onwards
whenever I play now any games my cpu overheats 80 to 85 degress when gaming and idle when browing or using firefox 60 - 69 degress and my ram usage goes to 88% load when idle I dont what is wrong Guys I need help. I gave my pc to service and they put a new thermal compound artic silver the temps are still the same I dont know what has happened and the cpu heatsink is placed properly no issues in that i am using a stock intel fan i have 5 120 mm fans 1 for the rear 2 on the top and 2 on the front intake but my gpu temp is normal no issues only my cpu.

My Specs are as follows :
intel core i5 4570
Giabyte z87- hd3
8gb corsair value select ram
WD green 7200 rpm 2 tb
120 ssd biostar
FSP HEXA 550plus 500 watt psu
subzero ghostwing case
Gigabyte GTX 1070 8gb GDDR5
dvd writer combo

I dont know what is wrong now

On a stock fan that's not bad 85 load, not brilliant, but not bad. 60-69 is not idle as you are using a browser, let it sit for 20mins doing nothing at all, that'll give you idle.

Are you using the stock intel cooler, or some other?

Your idle temperatures with ANY cooler should be 10-15c. over ambient.
Likely the cooler is not mounted well despite what the service people did.
Is the cpu cooler fan running?
If you are using the stock cooler, or another with a pushpin mount, check that all 4 pushpins are through the motherboard and locked.
You need to be able to see the back of the motherboard to check.
If you nudge the cooler, does it wiggle?

As I mentioned even if I use firefox or just keep the pc on the temps are going above 60 degrees which is not good and even if I lower the settings in any games it the temp is the same more than 85 degrees and they gave me a new intel stock cooler fan also I dont know what is wrong more than 60 when idle and using firefox and also my ram usage goes 80 load when using firefox

Stock intel, the idle figures are whilst using a browser, so not really idle, i'm assuming it is fitted properly as it was repasted (allegedly) at a shop, however If pushpins were not engaged, 85 would be higher, the 60-69 is irrelevant right now, until we get a true idle figure.

Temp at middle load is unimportant, what is your true idle.

It's been really busy when it just starts. But you could have a fan profile set to a preference for less noise in the bios.

The stock fans job is to stop it from throttling, that's all.

I didnt do anything with the bios I dont know what to do all I did was just play games and just browse on the internet but I never messed anything in the bios I dont know what might have happened this had happened recently.

So what is your temp at true idle, leave it for 20mins doing nothing at all.

You said at the start those were the temps when using a browser. What are your fan speeds at load and idle

Even experienced people have trouble with pushpin mounts.

Check yourself by looking at the back of the motherboard.
You should see that all 4 pushpins are through the motherboard and that there is a black pin inside them pushing the pins wider.

If you nudge the cooler, it should not move.

The cooler has no moving parts other than the fan.

Exactly what is your case cooling fan arrangement?
Is the case getting sufficient front intake air?
Any cooler needs a source of fresh air to do it's job.

Take the case covers off and direct a house fan at the innards. If that helps, look to case cooling solutions.

Yes from the start my fan speed is 2000 rpm when idle and when using firefox 2500 rpm and when gaming 2900 rpm with more than 85 degrees

Stop with the sad faces 85 is not abnormal for a stock cooler.

Thank you I removed oth the side panels and the top part also and the temps are back to normal 13th monkey I earlier never had this temp when I was gaming thats why I asked what could be wrong now the solution is been fixed thanks to geofelt but I cant close my case that means dust can rapidly get into it.

I can't find a solid photo of your case.
To get better airflow, concentrate on fans getting air INTO your case.
First, double check that any front case fans are turning, and that they are drawing cooling air into the case.
Dangle a tissue in front to check.

If your case supports two front 120mm or 140mm intakes, you should be getting sufficient intake air.
If that is the only source of intake air, and it is filtered, your parts will stay clean.

If you only have a place for one intake fan, you could replace it with a 3000 rpm fan at the price of more noise.

It might really be best to buy a more modern case with good airflow.

I finally fixed my problem the two front intake fans were not working properly it was stopping adn also the top 2 as well to see the wire was broken so I fixed it by taping it the wire thanks for the help
