Hello, I just built my computer and I noticed my CPU was getting hot. I turned my power options to high performance and I ran Prime95. Core Temp, a program that tells me how hot my CPU is, said the highest temperature I got was 69 degrees Celsius. My CPU is a i5-4690k, my CPU cooler is a 212 EVO, my case is a Phanteks Enthoo pro, and my motherboard is a MSI z97-g45. Is this a high temperature for my build? Thanks for the help.

69ºC max is a perfect temperature for Prime95. Just to be sure, what is the ambient temperature of your room, and did you run the test at 100% load? (small FFT's 8 workers) If ambient temperature is no less than 20ºC and you did in fact run the test at 100% load, then you're all good. Intel CPU's are able to function healthily anywhere below 75-80 degrees, and temperatures in the sixties or seventies are expected during 100% load stress testing.

Depends, at IDLE yes this would be terrible, and even at full load its quite hot considering when i had the EVO it ran 50C at full load. I would recommend reapplying your thermal paste and reseating the COOLER.

Of course this depends if your overclocking and how long you run the test.

What do you recommend I use to remove the thermal paste already there?

You can use something like a microfibre cloth or a paper towel to remove the thermal paste.
