Hey everyone. I recently overclocked my ryzen 7 1700x cpu to 39.25 Gz from 34.00 and it is running hotter than I'd like about 57-63 in desktop and about 78-84 while gaming. The thing is I have a water cooler and very good ventilation and fans, so I don't think it should be this high l. Me and my dad built the computer about a year ago and put a small amount of thermal paste on the cpu and rubbed it around the whole surface of cpu, do you think the paste could have dried up? (Sorry for this being long)

Go ahead and reapply the thermal paste. Always good to check your thermal paste. You can get some at Newegg, Amazon, or your local best buy.

Don't rub the paste on the CPU. Put a pea sized application and let the cooler do the work of spreading it around.

Hoped this helped and hopefully your temps get better!

What software are you using to monitor? AMD RyzenMaster? Try it and see what your temps are.
