Question cpu jumps from 79-100% down to lower than 13%

i dont know why but everytime i open task manager for a split second it just shows this

Opening task manager uses CPU. That may be what you're noticing.

Opening any software (including Task Manager) causes a CPU usage spike, I'd be more worried if that spike didn't die down.

my own 7700K spikes for 1/8th of a second sometimes to up to 77% usage when opening task manager...

Based on that, I declare it normal...

The 13% usage doing nothing is not normal, however...; true 'idle' should be at 1-2%, IMO...

how would you know it was 100% before opening it?

That's a cause for concern, because some crypto-currency mining malware will suspend itself if/when task manager is opened..!

i used process hacker to see what was using CPU and it says that this us using about 90% but it doesnt show on task manager so idk

The CPU resources used by the System Idle Process are just the CPU resources that aren’t being used. So this is normal. Source Article

That being said, if you're concerned about lag in your system... What are you doing when it occurs and can you please post full system specs?

And how exactly does it lag?
