Hi guys.

My AMD FX 6300 (6 core 3.5 ghz) is being a real pain today. Yesterday, it was fine, but as I got home today I noticed a horrible framerate whilst playing SWTOR. I investiagated, reducing the graphics to Ultra Low but the FPS even though a bit better wasn't good, and also noticed my PC was also being a bit slow in general.

So, I opened Task Manager, and noticed the CPU was running at 100 percent, which would be the reason for my FPS drop. I checked my GPU (GTX 760) on GPU tweak and it was fine, just like the day before...

I've tried many simple fixes, e.g uninstalling things, ending tasks on task manager, all not working.

(Note when it jolts to 100 that's when I load the game)

Do you know any fixes for this? It'd be highly appreciated.

What is different today, from yesterday?

Perhaps some malware has crept in.
Run malwarebytes free edition.

Is this windows 10? If so check your privacy settings. the defaults will let windows use your pc as a server to distribute updates to others'

Hi,

I went onto affinity in task manager and noticed CPU 0 was only active.

I then went into this BIOS, to see Cores 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 all had crosses next to their names, and were grayed out.

I tried setting BIOS to optimal and default, not changing a thing.

Does anyone know what may of happened?
Cheers
