CPU lane for m2 ssd

Hello,

I want to buy the new samsung SSD evo 960 M.2 PCIE NVME 500 GO.

I would like to know if he is fully compatible with my mobo : asus rampage extreme V ?

And what about pci lane ?
I have the 5820k with only one graphic cards and I don't really understand if I will be limited.

The motherboard is not the limit here for sure, you may need more RAM (if you have 8GB or less) and ofc GPU is really important if you need video performance.

If your board has an M2 slot, all compatible CPU's will provide enough PCIE lanes. The 5820k on the 2011 platform provides 28. By comparison, the i7 6700k on 1151 only provides 16 and is more than capable of handling NVME coupled with a GPU. It will be fine.

Sorry I wasnt clear, I was asking if the SSD evo 960 will be limited in perf and speed with my setup, as the technology is relatively new.

And I answered you. Yes it wll be fine, but it gets very very hot so you'll need to keep it cool with good airflow or you'll experience throttling,.
