Cpu led light is red and mem okay light blinking red when i click it

i've brought the cpu,motherbaord, ram, and gpu u all used and separately. i know tge gpu and ram is working for sure. However no output is being sent to my computer and Cpu led light is red and mem okay light blinking red when i click it. please help

It needs BIOS 1006 or higher to support that CPU

Look at the sticker on the mobo. Are the last 4 numbers 1006 or higher?

If it's under 1006, use USB BIOS flashback and update the bios

But update to a bios higher than 1006. Since 1006 is a beta BIOS

I mistakenly put the wrong motherboard. I have the M5A99FX PRO R2.0, do i still need to update the bios? and is it the last 4 numbers of the serial number?

there is a white sticker with a number and the last 4 numbers are 1708, is that the right number and if can u posibbly provide a link where i can download the bios onto a usb?

There is a 1708 bios. So if thats what it says the BIOS isnt the prob. It's something else

Remove the ram see if it beeps continuously. If it doesnt then thats another prob

it didnt beep so could it be a hardware issue?

Did you connect a mobo speaker to the speaker header?? It'll only beep if you connected one

yeah i have a amd athlon ii x3 425

Try it looks like it's compatible

If it works update the BIOS to 2501 then try the other CPU. If still no go it's probably dead

okay basically i've installed the athlon into the motherboard and the same issue occours so i assume the motherboard is dead or broken in so way, could that possibly be the case?

The Athlon should definitely work if its OK. Since it needs the first BIOS to support it

Try one stick of ram at a time make sure its in properly. If still no go, then the mobo maybe dead

Does it beep with the Athlon if you remove the ram??

nope and i think it was the motherboard becuase i talked to the guy and he gave me some moeny back for it, im going to test my cpu tmrw at a friends house.

Looks like they are. There's 2 revisions of that mobo in the link. Both need the first BIOS to support the 8350
