I'm on my first PC build, I'm very new to the PC building scene but I followed the manual as best I could and connected everything to where they should be. But my monitor wasnt getting the signal and then i noticed the CPU LED was a solid red. Does anyone know what could be the problem? Thank you.

My build is:
CPU: FX-9590
Motherboard: 970 Pro Gaming/Aura
Graphics Card: GTX 1050 ti

Your MB will only accept up to a 125 watt CPU. A FX9590 needs 220 watts. That is why it isn't working.

If you are on a budget, this MB should work. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B019C3S2CS/ref=psdc_1048424_t1_B00OH3UUPG
Just note that it doesn't have the best VRM cooling and as such you are probably going to want a really good blow-down CPU cooler to help with the VRM.

If you aren't on a budget and want a board with better cooling for the VRM, check this out.

The Gigabyte brand one seems to be out on Amazon, but Newegg might have it. The Asrock one is more expensive, but is a...
according to asus that board does not support that cpu, the highest it will support is the FX-8370. That is why your getting the CPU LED light, that board will boot and fans will spin but you will get a the CPU LED light and a black screen on the monitor.

The board only supports cpu's up to 120w, the 9590 is a 220w cpu

Any of those on the list will work, checked the two 970 boards as well

Yes. Just make sure that you have heatsinks on the VRM chips. If not, then you should make sure to use a blow down fan.

He already has the CPU though. He can buy a new CPU or a new MB. May as well get the latter and get a better MB.

the problem is the fx9590 isn't a better CPU really.
Even with a new mobo, it's not super guaranteed to work right.
An fx8350 will work, though isn't anything great by todays standards. (and neither is the 9590)
