so i just finished my pc build and everything went well besides nothing will boot like it turns on but the motherboard has a red cpu light. could ram cause this i've done everything every video has shown and i've looked on other websites also. could the ram not be compatible cause bios and everything else not to show up on screen and that's why the cpu light is on.

what is your current build? motherboard and cpu? i upgraded my 12600k to a 14700k and when i simply swapped my cpu it threw a red cpu light on my motherboard because I didnt have the latest version for my bios.
Went through the steps per my mobo brand to update to latest bios version and it started right up

i have a i7 13700k and i have a msi z690 unify motherboard. but i went and checked to see on a website if my ram was compatible and there was other ram of the same brand on there just not what i have and yep i updated the bios. still nothing lol

usually when the ram is also an issue it will blink the yellow light as well. red light is for cpu yellow is for ram.
example when I did this switch I was getting a cycle between the red and yellow, red cpu was solved by updating to the most current version of bios and yellow was because of the specific ram brand my mobo just didnt like the teamgroup tforce ram. It was also because my mobo recommends only up to 3200mhz and I was trying 3600mhz and didnt work, but currently have a 4000mhz g skill in there.
so that could be an issue too if your using a higher ram speed than what is recommended, which can be a hit or miss with brands/speeds and pc stability

So if you dont have a yellow blinking light as well then maybe try reseating your ram. How many GB and how many sticks do you have? If you have only 2 use the second and fourth slot starting from left.
