Question CPU Load at 3%

My Specs:
Asrock AB350 Pro 4 Motherboard
Ryzen 5 1600
MSI RX 5700 Mech OC
16GB DDR4 Corsair Vengeance LPX

I recently noticed that my FPS in games is much lower than any benchmarks for my CPU, so I decided to stress test it with MSI Kombustor. On 1080p (Fullscreen) I was getting ~40FPS with my GPU load at 98% but my CPU load never even went above 6%. Could this be an issue with the CPU going out? Any help is much appreciated

Other info that might be important:
Brand new GPU but I've had the CPU for a few years
Had to flash a new bios onto the mobo to get it to boot with my new GPU

may want to double-check with another utility like Core temp or CPUZ. may also need to check if there's a newer bios for the RX 5700

Ok I’ll try a different one out but I’m 100% sure I have the newest chipset and graphics drivers

Was the game being tested perhaps initially installed with some other hardware configuration, be it an earlier CPU/RAM/mainboard config or , more likely, your older GP?

If so, I'd uninstall the game in question, and fresh install the game...

You can check that the CPU cores/threads are working correctly with a simple cpu-Z/stress CPU run for 15-20 minutes...

Ok, would this apply to all of my games or only a select few? I'll also try the cpu-Z/stress program

If your GPU load really is at 98% while the CPU is at only 3%, you must have some extremely GPU-intensive graphics details like FSAA or excessive resolution scaling turned on.

It's just the normal 1080p preset MSI Kombustor stress test. No options for fsaa or resolution scaling
