How can I tell if my CPU is locked? I have an AthlonXP 2000+ Thoroughbread and currently its at 6.25x265 on a FIC AM47 motherboard. Is it even possible to overclock this? And if it is, what type of cooling would I need?

AthlonXP 2000+
PNY Verto GeForce FX5200 :)
Go Emachines...🙁

Are you sure that's not 12.5x133?

The CPU is overclockable; however, the motherboard is most likely not. The memory probably wouldn't go very far either. You *might* be able to use something like CPUFSB/SoftFSB, or find a modified BIOS. Don't get your hopes up though!

That depends on how far you want to overclock it!

The overclocking on that board really depends upon whether eMachines is using a custom BIOS, as the regular FIC one probably has a few (very limited) OC options. I know the Compaqs built on that board used a custom BIOS with no OC options, and it wouldn't let you flash to the FIC one.
