Cpu max temp?

On intel.com the maximum temperature for the i7 4790k is said to be 72 deg. But when I was running some benchmarks the temp hit 80 deg. I did not overclock or anything and I am using the stock cooler. Are these temps okay?

the stock cooler will get that hot when you do some burn in tests. if it gets that hot again in a game look to replace it with a better cooler.

Stock coolers are lackluster at best. Your temperatures are too high though, check and make sure you got all four corners of the stock cooler locked into place, those push pins have been causing problems for years....

Replace the stock cooler, heat and dirty power are what kills CPUs. You have too much heat my friend cheap and easy Hyper 212 evo dual fan. Noctura puts out great products too. I have a hyper 212+ on my i7 and it is currently @ 33C with an OC, I need to clean my filters...
