Hi, I currently have a i3-2120 with H61M-U3S3 MOBO from asrock. I am from the Philippines and I have the following choices for upgrade (just these, no other else for price limitation and buying them bundled (used)):

1. i5-3570k + ASUS MAXIMUS V GENE 1155 - Php12,000
2. i7-3770k + ECS H77 1155 - Php10,000
3. i5-4670k + Asrock Fatal1ty Killer Z87 - Php14,000
4. i5-4670k + Asus z87 PLUS - Php12,000

I would be mostly using it for gaming (I have a r9 290) and occasional video editing. I'm not planning to upgrade to broadwell or skylake (when it comes out) as long as the CPU+MOBO I am buying is able to run games at 40-60fps at 1080p for the next 2 years at least.

Another note is that I'm currently running a 2tb Black and 64gb SSD both at 6gb/s and I am planning to upgrade my 64gb to a 256gb SSD. I'll also buy another 2tb HDD for videos/software but I don't mind these to be at 3gb/s.

Thank you!

its more of the gpu that handles the games when considering an i5 and i7, so the 4670k and z87 plus is probably the best combo for price and performance and features of the motherboard.

I have never seen anything fantastic out of ECS and personally wouldnt buy their stuff, but if u need the i7 then it is the lowest costing and u get HT. But for games the newer i5 is better, and is still good at video editing/rendering. Plus the better board quality and chipset of the two ASUS and asrock board allow the cpu to be overclocked for more performance.
