I would like to replace my CPU as it is insanely bottlenecking my gtx 970. I have a pretty old mother board as well, but would like to hold off on replacing that if I can.
My motherboard is an AsRock N68-VS3 UCC.
I was trying to find what CPUs would be compatible with my motherboard and came across this website: http://www.cpu-upgrade.com/mb-ASRock/N68-VS3_UCC.html
I understand I need to find a CPU that has an AM3/3+ socket type, but on the side it states 1-6 cores and 1600 to 3400 MHz Frequency. It also says 20W - 107.4W TDP, but my current CPU that came with the motherboard (Phenom II X6 1055T) is 125W Max TDP, so that doesn't make much sense.
I was looking at a AMD FX-6350 as it seems to be one of the best 6 core AMD CPUs that is AM3/3+.
Will the AMD FX-6350 run fine with my motherboard? Do I need to find a CPU that is max 3.4 GHz and 6-cores?
