I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this, if not please let me know.

My build: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/hB9Y8M

This is my first time building a PC and I already have all of the parts, but while the system is powering up, there is no video output. I'm wondering if this is due to the warning that PC part picker gave me, which is that the CPU might be too new for my motherboard. What older CPU would work with my motherboard? When I use the older CPU to update the motherboard, how exactly do I do this and will it then be compatible with the CPU in my build? Or is the CPU even the problem? Thank you! If other information is required I will happily provide it.

Solution
It should work, newegg states that the BIOS has been updated to support Ryzen 3000 CPUs but there is always a chance you get a Mobo that will have an out of date BIOS, its getting rare but can happen. If thats the case you can contact AMD and they will send you a loaner CPU to update the BIOS with https://www.amd.com/en/support/kb/faq/pa-100

The other issue with your build is the RAM. You should get 3200mhz or great RAM in dual channel like this

If you dont already have that GPU then dont buy it, the 1060 is out of date, the GTX 1650 Super or GTX1660 Super are both better options if you are buying new. If you are buying used then the 1060 or RX580...

One last change you can make is the SSD, you can get https://pcpartpicker.com/product/pxKcCJ/crucial-p1-1tb-m2-2280-solid-state-drive-ct1000p1ssd8 which is 1TB and faster for only alittle bit more.

Would the RAM be the source of my issue here? My motherboard and PSU seem to be working fine. I'm not sure how to tell if my CPU is working fine, but it's new out of the box so I don't see why it wouldn't be. I also double checked all the power cables and everything is plugged in correct.

Additionally, I already have the SSD and GPU but is it worth upgrading them? I'm working full time so I have the funds to upgrade, but I don't want to spend money if it will have minimal impact on the quality of my system

The issue with your RAM is two things, first its slow 2400MHZ which makes you take a hit to performance with Ryzen. The next bigger issue is that you bought a single stick, meaning you only are using Single Channel RAM, which again for Ryzen can be a significant hit to performance. If possible return the RAM and purchase something like I linked.

The SSD is fine, I was just listed a better priced option.

The GPU is also fine for 1080P 60FPS gaming, I just hope you didn't pay full retail price for it new.

Finally if your computer is starting up then your Motherboard BIOS is at a version compatible with your CPU so you dont need to worry.
