[SOLVED] Cpu motherboards and installation

Hi there is it possible to install a coffee lake cpu in a non coffee lake mother boards for instance can I install the coffee lake cpu into a normal non coffee lake 1151 motherboard

You need to be more specific. What do you mean by non coffee lake? The important part is what chipset the motherboard has.

By coffee lake if you mean desktop cpu’s like i5 8400 then they will only work with motherboards with a 300 series chipset. The 100 or 200 chipsets won’t work.
