Hello. So I have a ASUS ROG STRIX Z390-H and an i7 8700k and I just got a 9700k t hat i know for a fact works.

The 9700k was on an asus prime z390-a all I did was take it out of taht mobo cleaned it of paste put it in the tray and take it with me on the new mobo.

With the ASUS ROG STRIX Z390-H it doesn't post alll it does it runs for a while than just keeps restarting no video.
And the pc boots just fine with the 8700k.
I unfortunately don't have acces to the old mobo to try the 9700k again but could it just die in transport? what others things should i try with the 9700k on the new mobo?

Thanks in advance.

You need to make sure your motherboard has a new enough BIOS version that it supports the 9700k. The 9700k didn't exist and therefore wasn't supported on early BIOS releases for that board. Make sure you have version 2203 or newer, preferably the latest stable release, and then try again. If you already a BIOS version newer than that, then something else is going on.
