Question Cpu not turning on

Hi guyz

I am having trouble booting my pc. Earlier it gave me some headache as i had to switch on the power button multiple times but it worked but from a few days its acting dead. I managed to power on my system after god knows how many tries it worked but for a brief moment and then it shuts down(more like crashes) after a minute or two. Ome time i luckily had a glimpse of the bios setting and the temp(dont know which temp it shows) was around 88°c average.
Here are my system specs. The poor thing is really old.
Cpu - intel dual core e something
Gpu - nvidia geforce gt520 1gb
Hdd - WD 500gb and an additional antique 160gb(has been added after the problem started)
PSU - 280W
RAM - 4gb corsair ddr3
Motherboard - GIGABYTE GMT SMP2

Sounds like a power delivery issue, might be your PSU

if it is overheating, redo the thermal paste and cooler

Hmm but the psu fan is working fine i checked yesterday. Or might it be some other component inside psu
