cpu not working :(

i have

pentium e2220 dual core @ 2.40ghz
3gb ram ddr2
cmb 945 lan sata board
Nvidia GeForce gt710 ddr3 2gb
450watt smps

i bought a new cpu core 2 quad q6600 @2.40 ghz but when i installed it moniter says no display
and then i re installed pentium it works perfectly but not working when q6600 is installed
plz help me

Could you clarify the make and model of your motherboard? Are you on the latest BIOS update for your motherboard? how old is your PSU? 450W may be the wattage but what is the make and model of the unit?

acording to my motherboard box my mother board is consistent cmb 945 and my psu is model no. : intex classic -450 and my bios is american megatrends Inc. 080015, 5/22/2013
