I was thinking of getting a 2nd monitor for my PC, and I was wondering if I plug it into my cpu display input thing would the cpu performance decrease at all by using the onboard graphics of my cpu?
P.S. My cpu is i5 4670k (no OC) if you were wondering, and i'm thinking of getting a 1440x900 display (I have a 1080p one now).

Solution
What video card are you using? Any reason you don't want to/can't run dual displays off it? That would be the best solution if possible.

As for using the 2nd display on your CPU's GPU you're fine. The CPU might possibly get a bit warmer, but thats it. The graphics portion of the CPU is separate from the CPU itself, so no performance loss.

Solution
Well I have a GTX 760, however I want to use the CPU display as the side with internet program running, while the primary can run games or do some 3D modelling (Maya, Blender, Etc).
