Question CPU only having a 3.4 clock when clocked to 3.8

For some odd reason, I've set my CPU to 3.8 in my BIOS. but for some reason, something is keeping my PC from going over 3.4, even when AMD Cool and Quiet is off and the Power settings are set to High Performance. Any help?

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 1600
Motherboard: GIGABYTE A320M-HD2

Your problem is your motherboard. It's a locked chipset, so you can't overclock on it.

You'll want to upgrade to a B350 or B450 board (preferably B450), to overclock.

A320 will let you change clock in bios, but it cannot actually overclock the CPU so it wont apply.

I never knew they'd expose the settings in BIOS and let you change it to no avail.
