CPU only use 800Mhz

Hi, I have a laptop. HP Pavilion TX1000, it has an AMD Turion 64 x2 TL-56. (Windows XP)

My problem is the core speed is 800Mhz, I check it in CPU-Z. If I go to system properties it says 1.8Ghz.

I 've read something about PowerNow! but it's not installed.

I tried to change it in BIOS, but their is no option to change that.


Is there anyway to change this?

In windows power options, in advanced power options under processor power management, make sure minimum processor state it set to 100% and that the power option selected is high performance, this will also increase heat output.

EDIT- Powernow! is built into the CPU, you don't install it.

Google PowerNow and get back to us....Why change it? It decreases your processors performance and therefore its power usage when it is not being used anyway.

In windows start menu > control panel > system and security > power options> click on a power plan > advanced power options.
