Question CPU or GPU not preforming as supposed to

Hello I have recently encountered an issue where i just play games on my pc like i would every day but every now and then it lags really hard and i think my cpu or gpu is under preforming.

Specs:
8gb DDR3 Ballistix Ram
CPU: i5 3570
GPU: 1050ti 4gb
Power Supply - Unknown brand (400w)

Lagging typically is more CPU related. I would also check temps as thermal throttling would cause performance issues.

What games are you playing? Some newer games such as BFV & Division 2 can struggle a bit with quad cores.

There is also a recent windows update that a lot of people blame for stutter and bad performance.
