I have what I hope is an easy question: Do I go with the E6750 and the 640MB 8800GS, or the E6850 and the 320MB 8800GS?

Unfortunately my budget has a very hard ceiling, and it won't stretch to the two better components. But do I spend on a slightly better CPU or GPU?

P.S. Having been set on an Eclipse Computers system, I have now seen story after story from people who've had bad experiences using them. While part of me suspects that this is just because it's the bad experiences that people write about, it's enough to put me off. Does anyone here have anything to add?

If not, I'm now going with a system from Cougar Extreme. They don't have many reviews (favourable or otherwise) but the folks over at the PC Advisor forums seem to think they're a good thing.

Thanks...

Try stretching for a E6750 and a 8800GTX, if you can't, depending on your gaming resolution (If its less than 1600x1200) for the E6750 and 8800GTS 320MB, if it's bigger than 1600x1200, then go for the E6750 and the 8800GTS 640MB. Forget about the E6850, you won't get a justifiable performance increase for the money your paying (Especially if you're going through dell which tends to overcharge).
