Hey, I was wondering what type of memory i should get to help overlock my cpu. My AMD 3500+ is at 2.6. I was going to add a 4000+ at 2.4 stock and try to get it up around 2.9 (with luck), and was wondering if i needed memory with a higher bus speed. I currently have Corsair value select 2.5 cas (2x512) at PC 3200=DDR 400. Would moving up to a DDR500 or 550 make a sig. difference???? Also my motherboard is a ASUS A8N-SLI Deluxe (i know not the best for oc'ing, but i dont want to burn up my cpu) and I'm not sure if it would take memory with a higher bus speed. Thanks

My temps are good, im running a thermaltake venus 12 heatsink and fan combo, and i added some artic cooler for better thermal conduction. I'm not really worried about heat issues, i have 9 fans in my case (it may be overkill....but when i crank them up it sounds like a tornado!!!, and i kind of like that).

Also, do you think that my Venus 12 heatsink and fan will eventually fit on an AM2 platform? I've herd that it should fit, or roughly fit. Thanks for the help.

there is only so much air can cool. if u have 12 fans then i would really just suggest that you upgrade to water cooling. spend 300 and ull drop ur cpu temp more than 20c.

the memory you have <value select is good >
but in my experience the corsiar xms allows for
better overclocking.

so if you can afford the xms or say ocz extreme
then you should be able to get a better overclock.
