cpu overclocking auto reset

hi guys, i just was wondering if i overclock my cpu will it return to it's normal speed when i'm not using it in heavy gaming for example ?or i always should go to the bios inorder to reset it?

You can have your CPU overclocked while having Speedstep/Cool n' Quiet enabled, which will auto downclock your CPU. However it is best to keep your CPU at a fixed clock with all power saving options disabled when OC'ing for the best stability.
