My cpu gets really warm...around 70-80c in rainbow six siege...in other games like bf4, skyrim, dayz it runs 55-60c. I guess my question is can a game thats optimized poorly or having issues cause this like it is or is it a coincidence and somethimg else?

I ran prime95 for 10 minutes as someone told me if i had heat issues i would know there...it stayed 58c

Could very well be. I don't play Rainbow Six Siege so I'm not familiar with it, but I know that games like Witcher 2 had a graphics setting that if you enabled it would bring even a mighty i7 with powerful GPU to its knees. I would start with seeing if there is a particular graphics setting that is causing the extensive system draw.

I have exact the same problem. Rainbow 6 siege heats my CPU like crazy and shutsdown the PC. This only happen with this game. I think the game is really poorly optimized. Is not a problem of fans, or any thing like that.

PC : Motherboard asus hero VII
Geforce GTX 970
8 Gb Ram
Intel i7 4790K

I would say that your best bet, as Claudio_3 has the same problem, is to lower your setting in game for now and wait for a patch. If you and Claudio_3 are having this issue I'm sure many other people are too and a patch will probably be along that fixes the issue.
